WELCOME
Welcome to Creation in Horizon. Everything you see in Horizon was built using these tools and often by users just like you.
COMMUNITY GROUP
The Horizon community page is found on Facebook and is incredibly useful. It is a great way to meet people, get help, see new worlds and get connected with the Facebook Horizon community.
COMMUNICATION
You can click on the name tag above a user to open their profile and add them as a friend. Once they accept, you can send them messages from your Oculus home menu, and even from the Oculus app on your phone.
OCULUS PARTY SYSTEM
Oculus Party calls allow you to travel between worlds in groups while in Horizon. You can talk to people in your party when they are in different worlds or even separate Oculus Apps.
CAPTURE AND SHARE
To Access the selfie stick you can use the three bar icon on your wrist, or the recessed button on your left controller.

You can use the three bar icon on your wrist, or the recessed button on your left controller to access the menu.
BUILD MODE
WELCOME TO BUILD MODE
In this series you’ll be learning how to navigate build mode and interact with objects.
ENTERING BUILD MODE
To enter build mode, while in the editable version of your world, pull down on your right thumbstick towards the person icon.
GRAB AND MOVE OBJECTS
A yellow highlight box will appear around the edges of the shape when the pointer of your hand is inside of the object. Then, to grab an object, press and hold down your index finger, we can now re-position the object.
RETURN TO PREVIEW MODE
Pressing upwards one time on the left thumbstick while in build mode will return you to preview mode, by teleporting you to the world's spawn point.
MOVING IN BUILD MODE
Enter Build Mode and learn how to manipulate your VR world by giving objects their size, location, style, and sound.
SCALE OF OBJECT
Scaling an object changes the size uniformly. To scale an object, grab it with both index fingers.
MOVE AN OBJECT
When you put your pointer in an object you will see sets of red, green and blue arrows appear. Hovering your pointer in an arrow will expand to show three object handles.
STRETCH AN OBJECT
When you put your pointer in an object you will see sets of red, green and blue arrows appear. Hovering your pointer in an arrow will expand to show object handles.
ROTATE AN OBJECT
When you put your pointer in an object you will see sets of red, green and blue arrows appear. Hovering your pointer in an arrow will expand to show object handles.
OPENING THE BUILD MENU
From build mode, you can open your build menu by pressing the recessed menu button on your left controller. If you point your laser pointer at the header of this or any menu.
SHAPES OVERVIEW
Under the build tab, is shapes. With your laser pointed at the menu, you can scroll through the primitive shapes with your thumbstick. You can pull the shapes out of the menu with your laser pointer by holding down your index finger.
GIZMOS OVERVIEW
Under the build tab, is gizmos. Pointing at the menu with your laser pointer you can scroll through available gizmos with the thumbstick.
SOUNDS OVERVIEW
Under the build tab, is sounds, where you can select from three categories. Effects, background and music.
STYLE OVERVIEW
Under the style tab are the tools to add paint and texture to objects. Pointing at the menu with your laser pointer you can scroll down on the page with the thumbstick.
BUILD MODE SETTINGS
WELCOME TO BUILD MODE SETTINGS
In this series you’ll be learning how to adjust world settings, create a thumbnail for your world, learn about capacity settings and how to adjust your comfort controls.
WORLD SETTINGS
In build mode at the bottom of the menu is the world tab. This is an important page where you can access publish, player settings and capacity tabs.
WORLD NAME
To change the world’s name, go to the world settings tab and click into the name field. A keyboard will appear for you to type in your desired name.
CREATING A THUMBNAIL
To create a world thumbnail, start in preview mode within your world. You can use the three bar icon on your wrist, or the recessed button on your left controller to access the menu.
CAPACITY SETTINGS
Found in the world’s tab. Capacity settings show you how complex your world is in four major categories.
DEBUG PANEL
The script tab is located to the right of the world tab on the build menu. It is the control console where debugging happens.
CHANGE DOMINANT HAND
On the far right of the build menu is the gear icon for the settings tab. From here you can change your dominant hand.
COMFORT ASSISTANCE
Found in the settings tab, under comfort you can adjust the dark vignette in your peripherals that appears while you're moving in build mode.
PREVIEW MODE SETTINGS
WELCOME TO PREVIEW MODE
In this series you'll be learning how to add editors and testers, duplicate and import worlds, and create open and closed sessions.
COLLABORATORS AND TESTERS
Collaboration is a very important part of creating worlds in Horizon. While in the create tab, press the “i” icon on your world.
DUPLICATING AND IMPORTING WORLD
While on the create tab select the “i” icon for a world you are not currently in. Then select the three dot icon to bring up a menu allowing you to duplicate, import, or delete the world.
PUBLIC PAGE
You'll have access to the world page after publishing your world. This is what others see when they search for your world.
NEW AND PRIVATE SESSIONS
You can choose to play in a public or private session.
